This class is a structured discipline providing traditional classical, character, lyrical contemporary and lyrical modern. This is a great class for those who love traditional classical whilst gaining techniques from other lyrical genres. The class concentrates on both the technical and performance components on Lyrical dance.
CONTENT: ISTD and RAD Classical and Lyrical Modern exercises and Combinations. Lyrical Contemporary and interpretive progressions and amalgamations. Character work from both RAD and ISTD syllabi. Older levels will include Pointe work and history of Classical and Contemporary artists. Content at a mixture of Grade 1-3 level.
ATTIRE: Students will need to wear classical attire for this class. Tinies and Juniors need items such as leotard, ballet skirt, pink ballet flats and tights. Leggings and crossover tops of course are acceptable. Intermediate students will also need character shoes once involved in the class for a little while and a character skirt. Seniors need classical flats and classical Pointe shoes. Seniors are suggested to wear footless convertable tights for easy conversion to bear feet for lyrical contemporary work. Boys are to wear tight fitted dance clothes to see the lines clearly, a black classical flat is to be worn.
